Technology Tool of the Week:

Formative is a GREAT educational tool for collecting formative data from your students. You can import an existing document (from Google Docs or Word), create a new document, and comment student work. You can see all of the students screen, as they work, and comment on the work (while they are working!)! Import videos from YouTube, and other media.
Check out this video!

Educational Technology Tools!

Have you ever looked at the educational technology tool links I have been compiling on EHS Tech Corner Website (located under the tab “ED Tech Resources”?

Screen Shot 2016-10-24 at 7.28.52 AM.png I will be highlighting a tool from this list each week!
This week is ED PUZZLE! (Keep reading…)

ED PUZZLE

Here is short video explaining ED Puzzle...

Screen Shot 2016-10-24 at 7.59.57 AM.pngED Puzzle is a website that allows you to take a short educational clip (from a variety of places -see photo!) and trim the clip, create a voice memo, add  questions  in the video, or voice over the entire video.

This can be used a formative assessment tool. You can then track your students to ensure they have watched the clip and see what they answered for questions.

Below is a sample lesson I made using Ed Puzzle (and the Chrome Extension for Ed Puzzle that allows ANY YouTube video to be brought into the application!)

You can directly assign the Ed Puzzle to students to your Google Classroom if you have that set up as well!

Here is the "class code" is you want to answer the questions! cancubg

Teacher Tech Days- Wednesdays!

Screen Shot 2016-10-14 at 10.33.01 AM.pngEvery Wednesday, from 2:30-3:30pm (in room A223), I host “Teacher Tech Days”. Many of you have come to the after school Wednesday time to work on your Google Sites.  I would like to create more formal professional development for Wednesday.
Next Wednesday, October 14th, is Early Release. I will not have a scheduled topic, but will still be available for your support!
*I have recently reached out to EHS LAL’s in an effort to begin to meet with departments for training in G Suite (keep scrolling down for info on G Suite).
Please see the below link for upcoming Teacher Tech Day topics!

Google Apps for Education is now called “G Suite for Education”- with a new “Explore” feature!

One of my goals as Technology Coordinator at EHS is to assist training teachers on using G Suite for Education. Recently, G Suite added a new “Explore” feature to Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Please see the below link for insight into how Explore can enhance the work by students or staff.

DURING YOUR CLASS period!

It makes a huge difference for staff to have access to the carts if you leave your prep block free for the carts to be used. Thank you for your understanding.

“Sharing is caring!”

HOW DO I LEAVE MY PREP BLOCK FREE  IN BOOKED SCHEDULER?
