Technology Tips of the Week: WeVideo (Continued)

Happy first day of spring! I wanted to update everyone on the WeVideo licensing EHS purchased. WeVideo is a video editing software that is CLOUD-BASED and works on many devices such as Chromebooks, iPhones, iPads, and computers! Yay!

I am happy to come into your class to assist students with signing on, adding the code, and using the software!

You can now reserve a class to use the licenses (up to 30 for each class) on the ehs.bookedscheduler.com.

You will see WeVideo as a resource when you use the arrow on top of the calendar (see below image).

How this will work:
Two classes can use the licensing at a time (as we have 60 seats). I will give the teacher a unique "join code" for their class. The students will follow the instructions in my video tutorial and use the join code to get full access to the program.
The students using the licenses will have access until they are finished their videos (which will be uploaded to YouTube for them to keep using the "Unlisted" setting). When the class is finished and all movies are uploaded to YouTube, the data will get wiped from WeVideo and I can assign another group of students.

PLEASE remember if you are assigning a video project to keep the length limited to around 4 minutes or under. There is a lot of data involved in creating videos (with images, audio files, music files, and video clips). If the students create a long movie, it will take up a lot of data in We Video and a LOT of time to upload to YouTube.

HOW STUDENTS CAN JOIN USING THE CLASS CODE:
(Fun fact: if you download the iPhone or iPad app for WeVideo and log in with the school email address the work you start on the phone will transfer by cloud to a computer. I created this video starting with my phone and ending on my computer)
