Tip of the Week: Google Classroom Comment Bank and Revision History
Google Classroom has had some major updates this year. Please see the prior blog post Google Classroom Updates 2018. Today I wanted to share a few things that may be helpful if you are using Google Classroom.
Comment Bank: Comment bank is a new feature in Classroom that can save you time if you are using similar comments as feedback for student's work.
When you open a student assignment, you will see on the right hand side of the page "Comment Bank".
To add comments into the Comment Bank- Click the arrow next "Comment Bank". You can write MULTIPLE comments in the box by starting a new line.
For example, by typing what you see below will create 3 different comments;
Needs more evidence to support your thesis.
Be careful of spelling and grammatical errors.
Good use of evidence based research.
Once the comments are in the "bank", you can click on the three dots to the right of the comment, then choose "Copy to Clipboard".

After you copy the comment to the clipboard, you can paste it into a comment box on the Google Doc!
You can also take comments you have already written and add them to the comment bank. Click on the tree dots next to "resolve" and you will see the below options to add an existing comment to your comment bank.
Please see the video tutorial to get a better sense of how it works!
Revision History: The revision history on the Google Doc is still available when you are grading an assignment. The trick to finding it is to click on the down arrow you see next to the green "suggestion mode" icon.
