I have found a nice solution to this question! In the new Google Sites, it is much easier to embed a calendar to your website.
The "workaround" is to take the Google Calendar created by Classroom, change the permissions to "public, then embed it into the website.
By embedding your Classroom Calendar to your website, parents and students can now see what assignments are due and when. In order to get this to work in Classroom, all assignments need to have DUE DATES. The due date is what will connect it to your Classroom. You can also add additional Calendar events (not through Classroom, but by using Google Calendar and selecting your Classroom Calendar!).

Tip of the Week: Embed a Google Classroom Calendar to Google Sites!
I have had many teachers ask me "is Google Classroom considered a teacher website?". The short answer is "no". Although Google Classroom features have improved to include optional parent weekly summaries (via email), parents still cannot access a Google Classroom, therefore it would not work as a teacher website.
