Technology Tips of the Week: Clean up your Gmail Inbox
There are a few ways to clean up your Gmail inbox to prepare for summer vacation!
- Search for email that is older than a certain date (say 6 months for example). You can use the arrow next to the search box at the top of Gmail and you will see the image to the left.
- Create folders to organize important emails and delete the ones you do not need. To create a folder, on the left menu of Gmail (under categories) choose “Create New Label”.
Backup your computer files for Re-Imaging:
To prepare your computer to be re-imaged, please backup your data! (You can use an external hard drive, thumb drive, or cloud storage (such as Google Drive or Dropbox).
Places to back-up...
- Desktop
- Home Folder (Home is only stored on the computer)
- Downloads folder (many times you do not need these files, but look there just in case).
The network folder IS BACKED UP! It looks like this…
It is the SAME as what you see when you open this...
Google Drive files ARE SAFE (cloud storage). All of your Google Bookmarks are SAFE (as long as you are logged into Google Chrome when you save them).
