Tip of the Week: We Video (revised)!

Last year we purchased WeVideo licenses for two classes (approximately 60 seats). WeVideo is an awesome video editing program that is all ONLINE (therefore can be used by students on Chromebooks, or from any computer that has internet!) I wanted to share the updated the process of how you can sign up your class to use WeVideo.

What are some of the features WeVideo has to offer?
Image result for wevideo
  • ONLINE program- no downloading software (works on Chromebooks).
  • You can use photos, videos, or images in their gallery to create movies.
  • Music is available on WeVideo for creating background music.
  • Students/teachers can "voice over" video.
  • Green Screen! You can even use a green piece of paper to get the green screen feature to work!
  • Text, transitions, images, icons, and more!
  • Speed up movie clips (2x, 3x, etc.)
  • Layers (similar to iMovie)
  • Much more!
How do I sign up my class to use WeVideo?
  • Go to "https://ehs.bookedscheduler.com" (Booked Online Scheduler)- Go to "Schedule"- then "Bookings"
    • Choose "WeVideo (video editing software) as you see here...
    • From here- book one of the classes. I recommend booking it for as long as you think it will take for the students to complete the assignment.

  • AFTER YOU BOOK WEVIDEO, PLEASE EMAIL ME (sblanc@sau16.org) and let me know so I can set up your class in the Admin part and give you an invite link to share with your students.
  • After you email me, I will send you an "invite link" that you can either:
    • Post to your Google Classroom
    • Send via email to your students in your class.
  • Students will open the invite link and click "JOIN WITH A NEW ACCOUNT".
  • Then they will sign in with the "Google" (the red "G") option as seen below:

NOW THEY ARE ALL SET AND READY TO MAKE MOVIES!

  • If students are recording video or using images from their phones, I recommend they download the Google Drive app, and sign into Drive on their phone with their school account to be able to pull the movies and images into WeVideo.

This is a great WeVideo tutorial, created by Jen Johnson
