Tip of the Week: Trim YouTube videos using Google Slides! Many teachers have asked, "How do I trim YouTube videos to show just a segment of video to my classes?" A week or so ago, a teacher asked me this and one of their students solved the problem! You can use Google Slides to trim YouTube videos! Yay!
How do I use Google Slides to trim a YouTube video?
- First, go to slides.google.com (Google Slides)
- Start a new presentation- "Blank" (big yellow plus sign)
- Name the Google Slide and title the first slide (you can add a theme if you want)
- Insert- Video (either search or "by URL" to paste a specific URL)
- Once the video is added to the slide, click "Format Options"
- Click on the "Video Playback" arrow and you will see this (picture to the right)...
- You can preview the video and click on a start and end time.
- You can also choose to "autoplay when presenting" (this means as soon as you click on the slide it will start to play.
- If you have multiple clips, you can put each clip on its own slide!
THAT'S IT! Enjoy!
- You can preview the video and click on a start and end time.
- You can also choose to "autoplay when presenting" (this means as soon as you click on the slide it will start to play.
