Canvas Confetti for On-Time Submissions!
Recently, while attending the Christa McCauliffe Technology conference, I learned about a fun feature available in Canvas called, "Confetti for On-Time Submissions"! Whenever a student submits a class assignment on time, there is a mini celebration of confetti! The feature was recently turned on in Canvas for EHS. There is nothing needed on your end to make the confetti fly (other than students submitting the work on-time, prior to the due date!).The confetti is a small, but fun reinforcement for students to turn in work on time.
I asked a group of student's today in the Library if they have seen the confetti feature yet. The reactions were positive; "no way!", "that's awesome!", "darn, I usually submit late", "neat!"... just a few of the responses I heard from the students at the table!
I gave it quick test (see video below);
You can test out this feature (as the teacher) by creating an assignment in Canvas, add a due date, then select "student view". Once in as student view, submit the assignment and viola! Confetti!
