If you wanted to create a video conference, currently Google Hangouts Meet has offered free "premium Meet features" through July 1, 2020. This includes the ability for up to 250 people to join a hangout at the same time! This feature is helpful for schools that may be working remotely due to COVID-19 (for G Suite and G Suite for Education users). Although our students have some limitations on access to Meet due to our school filter, I have created directions if you would like to set up a Hangout Meet for your class!
To create a Google Video Meet that your students can join (up to 250 people);
- You can either use the “Create” button in the upper left hand side of Calendar...
- OR one click on the date of the calendar to create a new event.
- Under “Event Details”, under “add location”, select “Add Conferencing” and choose “Hangouts Meet”.
- Once you select “Hangouts Meet”, you will see “Join Hangouts Meet” with a URL. Here is an
via Google Classroom, or Gmail!
