Tip of the Week: Google Chrome Saved Passwords Have you ever clicked on the pop-up to save a password in Google, then wonder where it went? Well, here is how you get to all of the saved passwords...
https://passwords.google.com (you will be prompted to sign into Google for security)
Once you are logged in, you can choose to turn off "Offer to Save Passwords" and "Auto sign-in" if you choose.
You will see below those options, your Saved Passwords list. You can click on the "eye" to see the actual password, or you can click the Trash Can to delete!
Is it safe to store passwords in Chrome? Answering that question is up to you. There are debates if you research online on this subject. If for some reason a person was able to hack your account, or you keep Google Chrome Open and walk away in public setting, then your passwords could be at risk. It is a good idea to see what is stored and delete sensitive ones. If you do not know the passwords, you could write them down or store them on a locked note in your phone, for example, then delete them from Chrome. It is a good habit to lock your screen (on a Chromebook or any other computer) when you walk away from your computer. Chromebooks may "sleep" when you shut the lid, but open right up when you "wake them up". Remembering to log out of Chrome is also a good practice (especially if you are sharing a computer). Have a great day!
