Tip of the Week: Student Choice Menus!
Happy New Year! It has been a busy Tuesday! I wanted to share an idea with you that you may or may not have heard of, called "Student Choice Menus". Creating differentiated lessons will help get students engaged and interested in distance learning. Creating choices for students in a structured way to meet their learning goals.
Below is a graphic created by John Spencer on Choice Menus
(He writes a great in depth article about this graphic called "4 Ways to Craft Choice Menus in Distance Learning Classes".)
In the below image Level 1 is mostly a teacher directed choice, and it moves all the way to level 4 which is entirely student directed. There are different levels of Student Choice Menus to think about!
Kasey Bell with at www.ShakeUpLearning.com created a sample of Choice Board in a Tic-Tac-Toe format.
